''Monochroa melagonella'' is a moth of the Gelechiidae family. It was described by Constant in 1895. It is found in Portugal, Spain, France, Italy and on Cyprus.〔(funet.fi )〕〔(Fauna Europaea )〕 The wingspan is about 8 mm.〔(CONSTANT, A. Paris )〕 The larvae feed on ''Rubia peregrina'' and ''Rubia tenuifolia''. They mine the leaves of their host plant. The mine has the form of a large, transparent blotch.
